Open Afternoon

It seemed that all who attended enjoyed the event. It was a shame that there were not more people present but the weather was bad and the Saturday before Christmas is a very busy day for most families. However the Hall felt comfortably full.

Thanks are due to Ashley Mellor who organised the musical programme. The jazz combo were easy to listen to, the Church choir were in fine voice and the two young soloists were greatly appreciated.

The quiz organised by Charles Aked was challenging but fair and it was won appropriately by the Silent Knights. Congratulations to them

The mulled wine was very popular and thanks go to Londis for its support of the event in kind.

Tony Dodd was, as ever, an excellent Master of Ceremonies.

The Village Hall was very warm and it was clear that the money spent on insulation was a good investment.

It would be great if this event, like the Village Show, could find a firm place in more villagers’ diaries in 2012 and onwards
