Wedgwood Estate

I received the following email from the WWRD site director this morning:-

I wanted to inform you of some works that are planned within the Wedgwood Estate by Western Power who own the electricity grid in the area.

Western Power are doing some engineering works along the canal and Barlaston Old Road. I understand the works are necessary to address overhead power lines that are becoming unsafe. These cables supply domestic properties in the local area.

I believe that some works will also take place within properties along Barlaston Old Road and that Western power have spoken to the people affected.

They plan to put the cables underground and have asked if they can locate a small substation on our land alongside our roadway from Barlaston Old Road. They are starting on site next week and will build the small substation (4 metres square in brick) and dig a trench along the side of the road/pathway towards the canal. There should be minimal disruption to traffic and they will adhere to all health and safety practices and conduct risk assessments. I understand the works will take approx 3 weeks.
