Current Effect on Council Services

Customer Services

If you are in need of assistance, you can contact the Clerk on 01782 551250 or email: barlastonparishclerk@gmail.com

You should also be in receipt of contact information for your local Councillor.

Barlaston Village Hall

The Village Hall is currently closed following Government guidelines. We will contact regular hirers when this situation changes.

Downs Car Park

The Downs car park is currently closed to the public. This is to prevent people from driving into the Village for exercise. Exercise should be undertaken locally.

The footpaths remain open to dog walkers and pedestrians; however, we ask all visitors to the site to respect the 2m social-distance rule.

The Children’s wild play area is closed until further notice.

Childrens’ Play Area / MUGA – Barlaston Park

The children’s playgrounds are closed but the park remains open to dog walkers and pedestrians. As above we ask all visitors to the site to respect the 2m social-distance rule when visiting this facility.

Community Events / Parish Council Meetings

Due to the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic, the unfortunate decision has been made to cancel the VE Day Celebrations weekend. Parish Council meetings have also been suspended. This is obviously very disappointing, but the council hopes to be in a position to organise some form of events once this situation has improved to celebrate the way the community has come together in these challenging times.

Canal

Advice from the Canal & River Trust is as follows:

At this unprecedented time, our priority is to support the national effort to keep people safe.

  • Whilst our towpaths remain open, use of them should not be limited
  • Avoid any stretches with boats moored against the towpath
  • No fishing until further notice
  • Strictly observe social distancing at all times
  • Follow the latest advice from Government
