Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend 3-5 June 2022

We have an exciting agenda set for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Event on 4 June, the main event will be held on the Village Green, however refreshments will be available at the Village Hall and St John’s Church from 10am.

The event will be free to attend along with all activities for children including donkey rides, Punch & Judy, bouncy castles, face painting and the opportunity to dress up and have your photo taken!  Morris dancers will be performing along with demonstrations from award winning line dancers.  Stone Cold Soberish will be performing on stage.  Over 30 market stalls have been booked and will be open from 10am split between St John’s Church and the Village Green.  Staffordshire Honda Goldwing Club will be in attendance for a static display.

A free minibus will be picking up and dropping off at regular intervals around the village from 12 noon to 4pm, so no need to bring the car.

The main event starts on the green at 12:00 noon and will conclude at 4pm.  We will recommence a music event in the marquee from 7pm to 11pm with singer Dave Lesley and a guest appearance from Nostalgia. DJ Ian Stewart will be providing background music.

Weather permitting, we will open the marquee sides and would be lovely to see residents sitting on the green enjoying the event.  There is limited space available if you wish to bring your gazebo down! Contact the Clerk if you wish to book a space.  We have booked a mobile fish and chip van for 7pm if you don’t fancy cooking.

On Sunday 5 June the Church will be hosting a Songs of Praise event from 11am in the Marquee.  The weekend will conclude from 12 noon with the Big Jubilee Lunch on the Village Green, the invitation is open to everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring a plate of food to the party to share.

We are still looking at options for Friday 3 June, a full itinerary will be published nearer the time.

Don’t forget to enter the Royal Scarecrow trail, prizes for the best scarecrows will be given out on 4 June at the Jubilee Event.
