The Boys Brigade are celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by organising a relay from Balmoral to Buckingham Palace. The planned route comes through Barlaston during the early evening of Monday, September 3rd. The baton will come down the towpath of the Trent and Mersey Canal from the Britannia Stadium and finish the leg at the Barlaston Methodist Church at around 8.15pm. It will be passing through Barlaston between 7.45 and 8.15pm. There will be a barbecue and other refreshments at the Methodist Church to welcome the baton party. The leaders of the Barlaston Company cordially invite villagers to attend. The baton will be handed over to a Company from Nottingham for the next leg.
