It came as a great shock to the village yesterday lunch time as people learned that Stephen Holding of Longton Road had been one of the passengers who died in the plane crash in Nepal.
Stephen was a member of the Barlaston Bowls and Lawn Tennis Club and regularly played on a Friday afternoon on a social basis. He was a quet unassuming man but very good company. He was someone who took personal fitness very seriously.
It is particularly poignant that he should die just as he was embarking on a holiday of a life time.
May he rest in peace. All our thoughts are with his family at this sad time
