Trees

I have been contacted by several people concerned about the trees that have been felled on the Wedgwood Sports Ground. The two trees involved were mature poplars. The Stafford Borough Council Tree Officer has been out to look at the trees and he has told me that poplars are structurally weak and at the size concerned there was a significant risk of their losing heavy branches. This information is in line with the information that Wedgwood management were given by their tree consultant.

I am informed that there is a programme of tree management on site that is starting that will involve around twenty trees. I am assured that it is a tree management programme and nothing to do with improving the view across to Barlaston Hall
